The hack, shared by Texas-based content creator Kierra Jonae on TikTok, has sparked both curiosity and disgust among customers. While some have expressed disapproval at the unconventional combination, others claim it is not as bad as expected.
Morgan Chomps, a food-focused content creator, reviewed the trend in her own video, stating that 'the texture of the cookie gets a little lost in everything else going on.' She added that 'the cookie doesn't really add a flavor; it just adds some sweetness.'
According to McDonald's Senior Marketing Director Guillaume Huin, the 'Cookie McDouble' hack has been around for a while, with videos of the food combination appearing as far back as 2020. However, this is the first time it has gone viral.
