McDonald's Dividend Hike Masks Share Price Concerns
McDonald's (MCD) has increased its quarterly dividend to $1.93 per share, marking a 4% boost that brings the annual payout to $7.72.
The move comes as investors are questioning whether the stock is fully valued after it gave up ground this year, with the share price down 22.01% year-to-date and about 11.40% over the past month.
Despite management's efforts to revamp the business through its McDonald's > NEXT plan, an $8.5 billion restaurant overhaul, and menu refreshments with higher protein options, the short-term share price pressure remains a concern for investors.
The stock is currently priced at $236.50, which puts it slightly below peers in the US Hospitality group, but still above its fair value of $233.67 based on an 8.52% discount rate.
