McDonald's is set to release its third-quarter earnings report before the market opens on Wednesday. Analysts surveyed by LSEG predict earnings per share of $3.38 and revenue of $7.29 billion. The fast-food giant has faced challenges in its U.S. market, with CEO Chris Kempczinski previously citing issues like poor execution of value offers and complicated menu launches. The company recently appointed Skye Anderson as its new U.S. president to address these problems.

Wall Street expects same-store sales in the U.S. to decline by 0.5% this quarter, according to StreetAccount estimates. Investors will be closely watching executive commentary on the company's performance in the current quarter, especially after Chipotle Mexican Grill reported softer traffic in October. McDonald's shares have dropped about 11% over the past year, impacted by concerns about its U.S. business, costly restaurant upgrades, and broader economic conditions. The company's market capitalization stands at roughly $186 billion.
