McDonald's Focus Shifts to Execution and Marketing Amid Weakening U.S. Sales
McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD) reported mixed second-quarter financial results, with U.S. sales softening despite a large marketing push. According to KeyBanc analyst Christopher Carril, investors will be looking for signs of trend improvement in the third quarter.
Carril noted that McDonald's had no major surprises in its second-quarter results and maintained an Overweight rating on the stock with a lowered price target from $315 to $305.
U.S. comparable sales were in line with Street estimates, but trends showed U.S. sales going negative in July, Carril said. The company is focused on execution and marketing going forward, after those two areas were weaknesses in the quarter.
