McDonald's Franchise Owner Celebrates 50 Years in the Business

Terry Eagle's 50-year journey with McDonald's began in 1976 when he started working at the fast-food chain as a teenager. At just 15, Eagle walked into a McDonald's restaurant in South London looking for his first job and was immediately drawn to the opportunity.

By the time he was 19, Eagle had been promoted to manager, marking the beginning of a long-term career with the company. Over the years, he pursued a franchise opportunity and opened his first restaurant in Camberwell, eventually expanding his ownership to six McDonald's restaurants across South London.

Eagle's commitment to the community has earned him recognition for his efforts. He has been commended by the Metropolitan Police and awarded three Parliamentary accolades for his work in providing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. Eagle also partners with local organizations, including Spiral, to help young people find employment and has raised over $200,000 for Ronald McDonald House UK.

In July, Eagle's team surprised him with a 50th-anniversary celebration at one of his Brixton restaurants. To commemorate the occasion, he wore a tie gifted by Fred Turner, former CEO of McDonald’s U.S.
