McDonald's Investor Day Aims to Revive Struggling Business
McDonald's is hosting its first investor day in nearly three years as its stock falls to a 52-week low. The event, held at the company's headquarters on September 22, aims to share details of its strategy to win back customers and reverse declining sales.
The Chicago-based restaurant chain has struggled since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic due to higher prices and a sluggish economy, resulting in reduced foot traffic and stagnant sales. McDonald's stock is currently trading at $246.52 per share, down 18% this year and flat over the past five years.
The company recently unveiled its 'McDonald's > NEXT' global growth plan, which includes a new restaurant design, revamped menu, and consumer-influenced innovations. At the investor day, McDonald's is expected to focus on revising its value menu and offering more affordable menu items, as well as shifting towards more chicken options.
The company has also appointed Skye Anderson as president of its U.S. business operations in an effort to revamp its domestic presence.
