McDonald's Korea has stopped selling its Chungju glutinous corn cheese croquette burger after customers complained about biting into stone granules. The product, released on August 9 to mark the fifth anniversary of the 'Taste of Korea' project, was initially slated for sale until August 12.

However, just two weeks after launch, the company had already surpassed 1 million cumulative sales. But with multiple customer reports of biting into stone granules while eating the product, McDonald's decided to halt sales on August 30 at 8 p.m.

A Korea McDonald's official stated that if three or more identical reports are received, they will proactively suspend product sales. The company is currently investigating the cause with farms and suppliers who provided the materials and supplies, noting there is no possibility of resuming sales for now.
