McDonald’s Korea announced on the 19th that it will introduce the Big Arch burger to the Korean market on the 22nd. This large beef burger, developed by the global McDonald’s team, has already seen success in major overseas markets. The Big Arch was first tested in 2024 in Portugal, Germany, and Canada, before expanding to France, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. In France, it has become the top-selling large burger since its launch last year, while in the UK and Ireland, it transitioned from a limited-time offer to a regular menu item this year.
The Korean version of the Big Arch maintains the core elements of the global recipe but includes some local adjustments. It features two 113g all-beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, and a 4.5-inch sesame and chia seed bun. Additional toppings include lettuce, dill pickles, fresh onion, and, for the first time in Korea, crispy onion for extra crunch. The burger is also topped with a special Signature Big Arch sauce.
A McDonald’s official expressed excitement about the launch, stating, "We are pleased to introduce Big Arch to customers in Korea after strong responses in major global markets." The company hopes the new burger will offer a unique experience compared to existing menu items, positioning Big Arch as a new icon for the brand.
