McDonald's Korea Spices Up Asia with Gochujang Butter Menu
McDonald's Korea has launched two new chicken burgers featuring a unique gochujang butter sauce, which will be rolled out across 13 Asian markets. The menu items are McCrispy Gochujang Butter and McSpicy Gochujang Butter, both of which use the same sauce but feature different chicken patties. The gochujang butter sauce is developed in Korea and combines spicy gochujang with buttery richness and Colby-Jack cheese.
The McCrispy Gochujang Butter uses a Cajun patty made from whole chicken thigh meat, while the McSpicy Gochujang Butter contains a chicken breast patty. The sauce is also sold separately as a dipping sauce, allowing customers to pair it with other menu items such as McNuggets or french fries.
The gochujang butter sauce will be used as a common motif across 13 Asian markets, including China, Vietnam, and Indonesia, which will each localize menus to suit consumer tastes and market characteristics. The campaign is led by McDonald's Korea and features singer G-Dragon as its model.
