McDonald's Launches $8.5B Growth Plan Amid Consumer Decline
McDonald's is launching its multi-year strategic plan, McDonald's > NEXT, in an effort to regain consumer confidence and boost growth.
The plan aims to revamp employee training programs, upgrade franchisees' equipment and technology, improve dining room spaces, and enhance food quality at a cost of $8.5 billion through 2030.
McDonald's has already begun implementing the plan, which includes launching a pricing engine that uses data analysis to recommend prices for restaurants and items, as well as a customer-engagement engine that personalizes experiences through offers and rewards.
The company hopes the initiative will result in a 1.5% gain in market share in both chicken and beverage categories by 2030, while maintaining its leadership position in beef and expanding operating margins to the low-to-mid 50% range by 2030.
