McDonald's Q2 Results: World Cup Partnership vs. Higher Gas Prices
McDonald's is set to report its second-quarter financial results on Tuesday, with analysts expecting revenue of $7.13 billion and earnings per share of $3.32.
The company has beaten analyst estimates for revenue in two straight quarters and five of the last 10 quarters overall.
However, McDonald's stock is trading at 24-month lows, and visits to its locations were down 4.5% in the second quarter, according to a report from Placer.ai.
The decline in visits could be due to higher gas prices keeping consumers away, but McDonald's has also launched several initiatives to attract customers, including a major partnership with the 2026 World Cup and its $3 menu featuring items like the McDouble and Sausage McMuffin.
