McDonald's Revamps Value Strategy Amid Weakest Sales Growth in Over a Year
McDonald's is revamping its value strategy in the US after posting its weakest sales growth in over a year. The fast-food giant has informed franchisees that it will introduce a new, longer-term approach to appealing to price-conscious customers.
The company also plans a short-term plan featuring temporary items and digital offers based on current popular products. This is in addition to the app's existing $2 breakfast sandwich and free fries with a minimum purchase of $1.
The move comes as McDonald's faces pressure from its declining stock price, down roughly 17% year-to-date. The company's new US head, Skye Anderson, has been appointed to bring focus and urgency to the business, marking a major change under her leadership.
