McDonald's Taiwan Outlet Serves Customer Chlorine-Tasting Drink

A man in Taoyuan, Taiwan visited McDonald's for breakfast on September 14th and ordered a cup of Sprite. However, he noticed that his drink tasted like chlorine from a swimming pool.

He returned to the counter and informed the staff about it, but they weren't sure what to do. Another staff member offered to change his drink, which he accepted.

Despite drinking water, the man continued to feel a tingling sensation on his tongue and stomach discomfort when he got home. His friend called the store to report the issue, and the manager revealed that they had just cleaned the store's pipeline earlier that day.

The manager advised the man to visit the emergency room (ER) for treatment. At the hospital, the man received an IV drip, anti-vomiting medication, and medicine. His medical certificate stated he had acute gastroenteritis and was suspected of eating disinfectant water.
