McDonald's Corp (MCD) reported Q2 earnings that fell short of analyst expectations, but its financial performance still shows resilience. The company's global systemwide sales grew by 5%, or 4% when adjusted for constant currencies, with revenue reaching $7.1 billion and operating income increasing by 3%. However, comparable sales in the U.S. segment only rose by 0.8%, lower than previous quarters.

McDonald's Chairman and CEO Chris Kempczinski noted that while their strategy is working globally, they need to raise the bar in the U.S. to accelerate performance in their largest market. To address this challenge, Skye Anderson has been appointed as President of McDonald's USA to inject urgency and focus.

The company's financial stability is evident in its solid franchise growth and operational efficiencies. GuruFocus data indicates that McDonald's is 19% undervalued, with a GF Value of $327.47 compared to the current trading price of $265.23. This provides an attractive opportunity for value investors looking for potential upside.
