McDonald's Unveils NEXT Strategy with Ambitious Margin Targets
McDonald's has unveiled its NEXT strategy to drive growth and productivity across its business. The plan is centered around achieving low-to-mid 50% operating margin by 2030, with general and administrative expenses (G&A) accounting for approximately 1.9% of system-wide sales by the same year.
The company aims to achieve these goals through a multi-year Make It Golden customer experience program, which will be supported by Restaurant > NEXT deployment. This initiative is expected to bring about ~250 basis points of gross restaurant-level efficiency gains.
In addition to margin expansion and efficiency gains, McDonald's also has its sights set on category share growth. The company targets a 1.5% point increase in chicken sales and a 1.5% point increase in beverage sales by 2030, while maintaining its leadership position in beef.
