McNeese Senior Chidera Chuka Completes Microsoft Internship
Chidera Chuka, a computer science senior from Nigeria at McNeese State University, recently completed an internship with Microsoft in Redmond, Washington. The experience taught her the importance of self-trust and producing thoughtful results while remaining open to continuous learning. Chuka plans to leverage her new product management and evaluation skills to develop high-impact tech products in her future career.
Chuka credits her internship with providing industry experience, a focus on impact, and technical expertise that will set her apart. She learned to approach problems with a structured and well-researched perspective, collaborating with others to gain new insights. The internship also strengthened her ability to take ownership of her work and related responsibilities.
After graduating this semester, Chuka hopes to return to Microsoft full-time or start at another company. She was drawn to computer science for its technical challenges and creative opportunities, allowing her to build projects she is proud of. Chuka chose McNeese for its scholarship opportunities for international students and advises others to take any steps they can to apply for internships, despite the daunting process.
