'Meals That Matter' Campaign Returns to Co-op Stores in Support of Special Olympics GB
The 'Meals That Matter' campaign is back in Co-op stores, this time running until September 1st. The initiative, backed by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) and Special Olympics Great Britain (GB), aims to raise funds for year-round sports programmes for over 12,000 athletes with an intellectual disability across England, Scotland, and Wales.
For every qualifying Co-op lunchtime meal deal purchased that includes a 500ml bottle or can of Coca-Cola Original Taste, Zero Sugar, or Diet Coke, 5p will be donated to Special Olympics GB. This campaign supports the wider efforts to build visibility for Special Olympics GB athletes at their first National Summer Games in nine years, which will take place in Birmingham from August 27-30.
The 'Meals That Matter' partnership has already raised over £200,000 since launching in 2025. The campaign features four athletes from across Great Britain, triathlete and swimmer Angus Leckonby, swimmer Taylor MacKenzie, rhythmic gymnast Ellie-Bea Thomas, and table tennis player Alex Rae.
Coca-Cola has been a founding partner of Special Olympics since 1968, with its commitment extending to Special Olympics GB since the movement launched in Great Britain in 1978. Today, Coca-Cola and CCEP continue that legacy through volunteering, fundraising, and programmes that champion inclusion both on and off the field.
