MeetTwins: AI Bot Attendee Enters Google Meet Calls
An Indian developer, Aditya Shinde, has created an AI assistant called MeetTwins that can attend Google Meet calls on behalf of its operator and relay approved information to colleagues.
The tool, currently in development, allows users to pre-prepare for a call by specifying what questions to answer, providing documents or files participants may request, and designating certain topics off-limits for discussion.
MeetTwins' primary function is to save time for its human operator by automating routine calls, such as status updates or sales check-ins. However, critics argue that using an AI bot in this way may lead to feelings of isolation or disconnection from colleagues.
According to Shinde, if a colleague expresses discomfort with the AI's presence during a call, they can simply type '/stop' in the chat, and MeetTwins will leave immediately.
