Mehoopany Resident and Veteran Bob Thompson Passes Away Unexpectedly

Bob Thompson, a 87-year-old resident of Nimble Hill in Mehoopany, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 25, 2026. Born on August 14, 1939, in Kingston to Harry and Edith Thompson, Bob grew up in Noxen and graduated from Lake Noxen High School before joining the Air Force.

After leaving the military, Bob worked for Procter & Gamble in Mehoopany, Bartron's Supply and Colours. He met his wife, Margaret D. Henning, and they spent 49 years together until her passing in April of this year.

Bob was known for his many interests and hobbies. In addition to working on cars, he collected toy tractors, trains, hay trolleys, torches, and Santa memorabilia. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and watching birds.
