Merck & Co. Stock Rises Amid Oncology Pipeline Expansion
Merck & Co.'s stock price rose by 0.50 percent in after-hours trading, reaching EUR 131.00 on September 29, 2026, at 7:06 p.m. CEST.
This increase comes as the company expands its oncology pipeline through an exclusive global license agreement with SciBrunch Therapeutics for SPR2015, a preclinical oral KRAS G12D inhibitor.
The deal gives Merck worldwide rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize SPR2015, with SciBrunch receiving a $400 million upfront payment and the potential for an additional $2.13 billion in total value.
Merck will record a $400 million pretax charge in its third-quarter 2026 GAAP and non-GAAP results due to this agreement.
The company also recently received FDA approval for WELIREG plus LENVIMA in treating certain adults with advanced clear-cell renal cell carcinoma, following treatment with a PD-1 or PD-L1 inhibitor.
