Merck Expands Bengaluru Facility with €13 Million Investment
Merck, a science and technology company, has expanded its manufacturing facility in Jigani, Bengaluru, India. The €13 million investment will strengthen local production of critical chemistry and biology materials for India's growing life science sector and customers across the Asia-Pacific region.
The expansion introduces biological buffer manufacturing alongside existing chemistry capabilities, creating an integrated offering for customers in research, diagnostics, biotechnology, and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. By supporting customers from research and development through scale-up and commercial production, the expanded facility is expected to contribute to India's role in global life science innovation.
The Jigani site will manufacture biological buffers and raw materials for diagnostic applications used in DNA research, cell culture, diagnostics, and drug manufacturing. The materials will be produced locally under temperature-controlled conditions, supporting supply reliability, reducing import dependence, and enabling faster responses to customers' scientific and manufacturing requirements.
