Merck Highlights Importance of Recognizing Causes Beyond Nutrition in Child Growth Disorders

PT Merck Tbk has emphasized its commitment to supporting optimal growth in Indonesian children through education on growth disorders.

The company, known as Merck, introduced an interactive webpage called Takartinggi.com and a children's storybook titled 'Arka and Dreams to Space' to educate parents about recognizing potential growth disorders early on.

According to the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) 2024, the national stunting prevalence is at 19.8 percent, leading many discussions on child growth in Indonesia to focus solely on nutrition.

However, Merck's President Director Evie Yulin stated that growth disorders in children have a wider spectrum and are not just caused by nutritional factors.
