Merck KGaA reported an increase in its second-quarter adjusted profit by 9.4% year-over-year to 1.6 billion euros, driven by strong performances in its life science and electronics divisions.

The company's net sales rose 3.4% to 5.43 billion euros, with healthcare sales falling 3.4% during the quarter. However, Merck faced a nearly 25% decline in net profit due to one-off items, including depreciation costs associated with its acquisition of SpringWorks Therapeutics in 2025 and substantially higher restructuring costs.

Despite these challenges, Merck raised its annual guidance, citing improving business conditions and easing foreign exchange headwinds. The company now expects adjusted EBITDA between 5.9 billion and 6.3 billion euros, up from prior forecasts of 5.7 billion and 6.1 billion euros.
