Merck Puts Hefty Bet on China-Based Scibrunch's Cancer Therapy
Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. Inc. has made a significant move in its oncology portfolio by entering an exclusive global license deal worth over $2 billion with Scibrunch Therapeutics Co. Ltd.
The agreement, which has now closed, includes an upfront payment of $400 million and additional payments tied to development, commercialization, and other milestones for multiple indications.
This move marks Merck's entry into the preclinical oral KRAS G12D (on) inhibitor space with SPR-2015, a compound developed by Scibrunch. The potential value of this deal stands at $2.13 billion, making it a substantial investment in the field of oncology.
