Merck Raises Long-term Revenue Target to Over $70 Billion
Merck presented its growth plan at the Wells Fargo healthcare conference on Wednesday. The company has raised its long-term human health revenue target to over $70 billion, up from about $50 billion a year earlier.
The oncology pipeline remains the main driver of growth for Merck, with sac-TMT and INT leading the way. Sac-TMT is being tested in 17 clinical trials across various cancers, including those outside breast and lung. Merck sees room for combinations with PD-1 and VEGF therapies.
The company also discussed its ophthalmology plans, which include two eye-disease programs: MK-3000 and MK-8748. Both drugs are being developed for diabetic macular edema and neovascular AMD.
