Merck Taps SCRI's Accelero Model to Boost Oncology Trial Efficiency
Pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co. has partnered with oncology research organization Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) to streamline oncology trial development and access for patients.
The collaboration will see Merck deploy SCRI's Accelero delivery model, designed to identify challenges and tailor solutions in clinical trials. This includes simplifying health record data transfer, accelerating site start-up, and increasing enrollment by matching trial sponsors with sites from the SCRI network.
SCRI's platform has reportedly delivered site activations up to 50% faster than traditional operations, increased enrollment rates by 19% over the national average, and reduced data changes by 95%. Merck hopes to leverage these efficiencies to bring cancer treatments to patients more quickly.
