Merck's Remigromig Demonstrates Non-Inferiority in DME Trial

Merck's new eye disease drug, remigromig, has shown promise in clinical trials. The company announced that its treatment met the main goal of a mid- to late-stage trial testing it in adult patients with diabetic macular edema (DME). DME is a serious condition that causes swelling and fluid buildup in the macula, which can lead to blindness.

The results of the trial, which compared remigromig to the control drug ranibizumab, demonstrated non-inferiority. This means that remigromig was found to be just as effective as ranibizumab in treating DME patients. The trial's findings will be presented at the upcoming annual meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
