Merck's Remigromig Meets Non-Inferiority Goal in DME Trial

Merck announced Thursday that its investigational drug remigromig met the primary endpoint in a pivotal Phase 2b/3 trial for diabetic macular edema, demonstrating non-inferiority to ranibizumab.

The BRUNELLO trial evaluated 984 patients with diabetic macular edema who received either 0.5 mg or 0.8 mg doses of remigromig or 0.5 mg ranibizumab every four weeks.

At 52 weeks, both doses of remigromig independently demonstrated non-inferiority to ranibizumab for mean change from baseline in best-corrected visual acuity.
