Meta Acquires Robotics AI Firm for Humanoid Robot Advancements

Meta Platforms has acquired Assured Robot Intelligence (ARI), a robotics company specializing in artificial intelligence for robots, according to a report. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition is part of Meta's initiative to build humanoid technology, with ARI being 'at the frontier of robotic intelligence designed to enable robots to understand, predict and adapt to human behaviors in complex and dynamic environments.'

ARI's co-founders Lerrel Pinto and Xiaolong Wang will join Meta Superintelligence Labs' research division, working closely with Meta Robotics Studio. Wang was previously a researcher at Nvidia Corp.
