Meta Ditches Google Chat for Slack Over AI Agent Capabilities
Meta is switching from Google Chat to Slack for internal communications due to its superior handling of AI agents, according to a memo from AI chief Alexandr Wang.
The move makes Slack the chosen platform for Meta's internal agent ecosystem, with Wang stating that 'Slack has a rich conversational interface for agents, mature developer tooling and strong 3P integrations.'
This decision is a significant win for Salesforce, which acquired Slack for $27.7 billion in 2021.
Salesforce's stock surged nearly 23% last week following an expanded partnership with Anthropic and strong earnings results, with CEO Marc Benioff saying 'This is not the SaaSpocalypse.'
