Meta Unfazed by Amazon AI Ban, Musk Reveals
Elon Musk's recent tweet has shed light on Amazon's (AMZN) announcement to ban AI agents from its digital storefront. The news, which should have negatively impacted Meta Platforms (META), had a surprisingly minimal impact on the company's stock price. In fact, META's 11% rally yesterday shows that investors are ignoring Amazon's move.
Musk explained that Amazon won't be able to tell whether the buyer is a human or an AI acting on their behalf if access is via the user's IP address & cookies. This makes it challenging for Amazon to enforce its ban effectively, especially since Muse users can use the agent smartly.
Meta has been making significant strides in the AI space with its new AI agent, Muse. The tool rocketed to top the charts at the Apple and Google app stores, dethroning ChatGPT as the #1 most downloaded free app. With Meta's installed base of 3.6 billion users across its platforms and a history of monetizing via ads, there are real advantages in its favor.
The company's next frontier model, Watermelon, is due to be released soon and could potentially shake up the AI race. Using TIKR's proprietary valuation model, an implied valuation of over $1,000 was calculated based on consensus estimates through 2029.
