Meta's Muse Agent Surges to Top of App Charts with 900K Downloads in First Week
Meta's new personal AI agent, Muse, has made waves in the tech industry after racking up over 900,000 downloads in its first week of launch. The AI assistant climbed to the top of both the iOS App Store and Google Play charts in the US, with install numbers ballooning to between 2.5 and 2.8 million within two weeks.
Muse is designed to be proactive, executing multi-step tasks autonomously, such as sending emails, booking travel, and managing personal goals. It plugs into Meta's ecosystem, including WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, but also connects with external services like Gmail and Spotify.
The agent runs inside the 'Muse Secure VM,' a dedicated virtual machine environment designed to keep user data compartmentalized. Security features include a 'Sentinel' supervisor system and one-time payment cards for transactions.
Meta structured Muse's pricing with a free tier and two paid subscriptions: a Power plan at $20 per month and a Maximum plan at $100 per month. Early performance metrics suggest Muse outperformed ChatGPT in certain deployment benchmarks during its initial rollout.
