October is packed with free family fun in Metro Detroit. From museum days and hands-on STEM activities to Halloween celebrations, fire department open houses, and fall festivals, there are plenty of ways to keep kids busy without spending a fortune.

The Stahls Motors & Music Experience offers free admission every weekday this month, allowing families to explore automotive history, marvel at musical machines, and get hands-on with unique vehicles.

Storytime @ The Ford House features Lucy Ruth Cummins' 'Stumpkin' on four Tuesdays in October, followed by a pumpkin coloring activity. Admission is free for the storytime sessions.

Cranbrook Institute of Science offers free admission on Friday, October 2nd, from 6pm to 10pm.

Other highlights include Home Depot's Kid Workshops on Saturday, October 3rd, DIY-U by Lowe's on Saturday, October 17th, and the Detroit Historical Museum's Halloween celebration on Sunday, October 25th.
