Miami-Dade Police Seek Suspect in Chevron Arson Attack

A man is wanted by the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office for an arson attack at a Chevron gas station in southwest Miami-Dade. The incident occurred on August 13, 2026, around 2 a.m. at the Chevron station located at 8698 Southwest 40th Street.

The suspect approached pump number two and placed a bag on top of it before setting it on fire, according to investigators. He then fled the area, last seen running south on Southwest 87th Avenue from Bird Road.

The suspect was described as an unknown male wearing dark-colored clothing, gloves, and a distinctive white armband with black stripes on his left arm.
