Miami Presidential Library to Feature Historic Air Force One Aircraft
The Miami presidential library's star attraction has been revealed to be SAM 29000, one of two Boeing VC-25A aircraft that have served as Air Force One since the early 1990s. The museum's centerpiece will be a 40-year-old aircraft with a deep presidential legacy.
The decision was made by Eric Trump in an interview, where he explained that the sprawling waterfront complex planned next to Miami's Freedom Tower is intended to display the retired presidential aircraft at the base of the building.
The VC-25A has nearly four decades of history under its belt, and it functions as a fully operational White House in the sky. It features a private office, bedroom, dressing room, shower and lavatory for the president, as well as workspaces for senior advisers and the Secret Service.
