Michael Richard Hudson Remembered for Dedication to Family and Career
Michael Richard Hudson, a dedicated family man and lifelong learner, passed away on October 1, 2026, at his home in Dodge Center, MN, surrounded by loved ones. Born on June 17, 1954, in Oklahoma City, OK, Hudson's early years were marked by frequent moves across the country, eventually settling in Rochester, MN, where he graduated from Lourdes High School in 1973.
Hudson began his career at IBM in 1974, following in his father's footsteps. Over 40 years, he advanced from soldering circuit boards to managing IBM’s global sales configurator. After retiring from IBM in 2014, he continued working for Lenovo for three more years before officially retiring. His professional journey was marked by loyalty and dedication to his teams.
On November 2, 1974, Hudson married Doris Hart, and the couple settled in Dodge Center in 1978. Together, they raised two sons, Michael and Timothy, and cherished their time with their grandchildren after Hudson's retirement. An active member of St. John Baptiste de la Salle Catholic Church, he served as a church trustee and enjoyed carpentry, fishing, and spending time at their cabin on Lake Shetek.
A funeral mass will be held at St. John Baptiste de la Salle Catholic Church on October 9, 2026, with visitation and a rosary the evening before. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center. Condolences can be shared at Czaplewski Family Funeral Homes' website.
