Micron Aims to Surpass Microsoft's Profit by 2027: Analyst
Micron, a leading storage chip maker, is expected to surpass Microsoft in profit by fiscal year 2027, according to analyst Daniel Sparks. This prediction hinges on storage prices remaining near record highs.
The latest guidance from Micron suggests that its net profit for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026 could reach $35 billion, which would be about four times its full-year profit for the prior fiscal year.
Micron's profit in fiscal year 2027 may exceed Microsoft's by a narrow margin. To achieve this goal, Micron needs to generate around $38 billion to $39 billion in net profit on average per quarter. Storage prices do not need to soar further, but they must remain near record highs and shipments will also need to increase.
