Micron Takes Center Stage as AI Infrastructure Demand Surges

The spotlight usually shines on Nvidia (NVDA) and Palantir Technologies (PLTR), but according to some, Micron Technology (MU) is the key player in AI infrastructure.

Nvidia's latest earnings report showed a record $96.2 billion in revenue, more than double its year-ago figure, with data center sales reaching $89 billion and growing 117% year over year.

Palantir also reported impressive growth, with revenue surging 93% year over year to $1.9 billion.

The AI stack is vertical, meaning that for every new GPU produced by Nvidia or software platform sold by Palantir, there's a need for more high-bandwidth memory (HBM) from Micron.

Micron is one of only three companies that can deliver this type of memory at scale, and its pricing has soared due to AI data centers gobbling up production.

Micron reports its fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results on September 30, with analysts predicting $50.8 billion in revenue and EPS of $31.28.
