Microsoft 365 Family Plan: Affordable Terabyte Storage for Families
Tashreef, a seasoned tech writer for MakeUseOf, has been using Microsoft 365 since 2007. He recently upgraded to the Family plan, which offers up to six people with their own 1TB of OneDrive storage for $99.99/year.
The Family plan caught his attention because it's the cheapest terabyte in tech. Tashreef points out that buying comparable storage individually through Google One or iCloud would cost significantly more than the Family plan does as a whole.
Tashreef initially subscribed to Microsoft 365 for its Office apps, particularly Word, which he used daily until switching to Markdown editors. However, it was the 1TB of OneDrive storage that quietly became essential for backing up photos and files.
The Family plan includes extras like Microsoft Defender, Clipchamp, and Microsoft Designer, but Tashreef notes that these features are not as important as the cloud storage offered by the subscription. He concludes that the storage alone is worth the cost, especially at $17 per person per year on the Family plan.
