Microsoft 365 Readiness Gap Concerns Rise Amid AI Demand
A recent study by Augmentt highlights concerns among managed service providers (MSPs) regarding Microsoft 365 readiness for AI governance, as demand for Copilot rises.
The research surveyed 193 MSP professionals and found that AI and Copilot governance was the fastest-growing client request for 40% of respondents. However, only 10% said more than three-quarters of their client tenants are ready for Copilot, while just 3% stated every client tenant under their management is prepared.
The study also revealed that nearly half of respondents (47%) experienced an AI- or Copilot-related data exposure or near miss in a client tenant within the previous 12 months. Data security and oversharing risk was cited as the biggest barrier to offering AI or Copilot as a managed service by 35% of respondents, while 41% named data oversharing as their main concern as AI use expands.
