Microsoft Aims to Revolutionize Ecommerce with Agentic Commerce Blueprint
Microsoft has released an agentic commerce blueprint to help businesses navigate the new era of AI-driven purchasing. The 'Agentic Playbook' focuses on three key priorities: getting discovered by AI agents, ensuring seamless purchases, and optimizing performance.
The playbook is part of Microsoft's Universal Commerce Protocol (UPC), which connects Copilot with retail partners like Target, Ulta Beauty, and Stripe. By 2030, Bain & Company estimates that agentic ecommerce will account for 15% to 25% of the market in the US.
Microsoft also announced the rollout of its 'AI Max' features for search advertising campaigns, which optimize performance across Copilot Search and Bing. The system uses keywords, ads, and landing pages to find relevant searches campaign might not reach.
