Microsoft and Alphabet Lead the Pack in AI Software Growth
Microsoft and Alphabet are two growth stocks at the forefront of AI software. Both companies have established themselves as leaders in the industry, with Microsoft's early investment in OpenAI giving it a head start. The company's Copilot app has 30 million paying subscribers, a 50% increase from just a few months earlier.
Copilot is an AI hub to help workers and consumers be more productive, including an AI agent called Autopilot, Code for programming, Cowork for getting tasks done, and AI-powered Office apps. Microsoft is betting that it can build AI services on top of its solid enterprise software foundation, with Azure AI cloud computing business reaching an annual run rate of $100 billion.
Alphabet's AI models are also gaining traction, particularly Google Gemini, which is powering the company's enterprise software. The model is being used by nearly 90% of Fortune 100 companies, including Intel and PepsiCo, to automate their workflows and build AI agents.
