Microsoft Axes Ninja Theory After Failed Acquisition Talks

Xbox division continues to undergo significant changes as Microsoft has confirmed plans to close Hellblade developer Ninja Theory. The decision comes after failed acquisition talks between two separate companies.

Ninja Theory was founded in 2000 and is best known for its work on the Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and Hellblade series. The studio had been working on a third entry in the Hellblade series, simply titled Senua, but it seems this project will not come to fruition.

Xbox executive Matt Booty revealed that two separate agreements for Ninja Theory fell through, leading Microsoft to begin consultation with employees on a proposed closure. The studio's future remains uncertain unless circumstances change quickly.
