Microsoft Boosts Productivity with Enhanced Copilot Features

Microsoft has revamped its Copilot AI assistant, adding new features to enhance productivity for users. One of the most significant updates is the Code interface section, which enables non-technical workers to create simple apps using prompts. For example, a business analyst can use Copilot to create a dashboard that tracks store sales.

The Copilot-generated app can take the form of a desktop widget or a cloud service, allowing users to share it with colleagues. To minimize technical work involved in deploying Copilot-generated apps, Microsoft has introduced Copilot Managed Runtime. This service deploys apps in a cloud environment that doesn't require manual configuration or maintenance.

Copilot Managed Runtime comes with a software development kit (SDK) and a command-line tool, which engineers can use to refine Copilot apps created by non-technical colleagues. Additionally, the new release includes two other interface sections: Chat and Autopilot. Chat is powered by an integration with Office and allows users to create Word, Excel, or PowerPoint files by describing what they should include.

Autopilot enables workers to create AI agents without writing code, which can be configured to automate recurring tasks or perform actions in response to specific business events. The AI agent can also tackle complex, multi-step work without the need for highly detailed prompts.
