Microsoft Brings AI Leaders Together for October 7 PC Event
Microsoft is hosting an event on October 7 in San Francisco to discuss how local AI will shape the future of PCs. The company has invited a trio of industry leaders, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, and Windows + Devices executive vice president Pavan Davuluri.
The event will focus on innovations across Windows, NVIDIA RTX Spark, Surface, and the broader PC ecosystem. This comes after Davuluri framed RTX Spark as the next chapter in Windows hardware development earlier this year.
NVIDIA's senior vice president of personal computing, Jeff Fisher, has described the partnership between Microsoft and NVIDIA as one that aims to bring agents (likely referring to AI-powered assistants) into personal computing. The October 7 event is expected to provide more details on shipping plans for RTX Spark-based devices.
Microsoft has already introduced the Surface Laptop Ultra, which pairs NVIDIA Blackwell RTX graphics with up to 128GB of unified memory. This machine can deliver 1 petaflop of AI compute and run models with up to 120 billion parameters locally.
