Microsoft Brings Automatic Spell Check to Outlook
Microsoft is expanding its Outlook suite to include an automatic spell check feature for users on the web and in Windows. This new feature will allow users to configure their Outlook settings to automatically check messages for spelling mistakes before they are sent.
The feature, which is optional, will work alongside the existing real-time spell checker. According to Microsoft, users can enable this feature by configuring their Outlook settings to check spelling automatically before sending emails.
Microsoft has announced that the rollout of this feature will begin in mid-October and is expected to be completed by early December 2026 for general availability worldwide. The exact dates may vary depending on the user's region, with specific rollouts scheduled for GCC (General Availability), GCC High, and DoD.
The new spell check feature aims to reduce spelling mistakes in sent messages without requiring users to manually start a spell check for each message.
