Microsoft Brings Chat, Coding, and AI Assistants to Copilot App
Microsoft has rolled out significant updates to its Copilot app, introducing new features such as Home, Code, and Autopilot. The update aims to bring chat, delegated task handling, document creation, coding tools, and autonomous software agents into a single Copilot experience.
The main starting point in Copilot is now the Home interface, which combines Chat and Cowork in one place. This allows users to create or update Word documents, Excel workbooks, and PowerPoint presentations within the app. These files remain editable and synchronized with the main Office applications.
Microsoft has also introduced Code tools, which extend Copilot beyond document-based work into app and workflow creation. Users can describe an app, dashboard, automation, or tracker in natural language, and Copilot will decide how to build it.
