He will remain in his position until December 31st, 2026, as the company looks to replace him. Shaw joined Microsoft in 2009 as a Corporate VP of Communications and became CCO in January 2023.

During his tenure, Shaw has seen the company invest heavily in AI and data centers. His exit marks another high-profile departure from a prominent tech firm. When asked about his future plans, Shaw said he couldn't speak to what's next at this time.
