Microsoft Challenges Meta with Redesigned Copilot

Microsoft has rolled out a revamped version of its 'Copilot' tool, which now features autonomous agentic agents that can perform tasks such as creating launch plans and building budgets. This move allows Microsoft to compete directly with Meta Platforms' AI agent 'Muse'.

The new Copilot app includes three main tools: 'Home', 'Code', and 'Autopilot'. The Autopilot feature, which is currently in private preview, aims to automate routine tasks by embedding agentic AI workflows into daily projects.

Jared Spataro, Microsoft CMO of AI at Work, highlighted the new features in Copilot. He noted that users can now ask Copilot to create a launch plan in Word and then build the budget in Excel without switching apps.
