Microsoft Commits $10 Billion to Middle East Technology Development
Microsoft has strengthened its commitment to the Middle East by unveiling a new framework that focuses on technology, digital resilience, and people. The framework builds on over 35 years of partnership with the region and includes plans to invest more than $10 billion between now and 2030.
The investment will be used to expand cloud and AI infrastructure across the region, deepen partnerships with national AI champions, and create a Middle East Digital Resilience initiative. Microsoft will also invest in subsea and terrestrial connectivity, strengthen data protection and privacy, and advance responsible AI through governance and inclusion.
Naim Yazbeck, President of Microsoft Middle East and Africa, said that the company has been part of the region's transformation for more than 35 years and is committed to being a long-term partner in its journey. Brad Smith, Vice Chair and President of Microsoft, added that the company believes every country should be able to benefit from leading AI and cloud technologies while maintaining confidence in the security, resilience, and sovereignty of its digital infrastructure.
